Perseus

The Perseus program records all processes performed in the Pathology laboratory, usually carried out by laboratory assistants. These processes include trimming, centrifugation, embedding, slicing, staining or mounting, shipping. The program also allows all recorded processes to be displayed in various formats in the form of print reports and statistics for internal or external control purposes. The program is also equipped with user registration and setting of relevant rights.

Individual processes are set to process the following objects:

• Request
• Vial (organ, material, sample)
• Cassette (block, cassette)
• Glass (slide) 

  The other processing processes look similar. The sequence of individual processes is controlled by the type of examination, which are:

  • B – Biopsy – fixed material
  • G – Gynecology – glass
  • C – Cytology – aspirate
  • C – Cytology – glass
  • B – Biopsy – consultation – analysis
  • B – Biopsy – consultation – diagnostics glass
  • Rediagnosis (of an archived sample)
  • Reanalysis (archived sample)
  • B – Biopsy – intraoperative
  • C – Cytology – urine

   

  Then, for example, a biopsy consists of these processes:

  • Trimming
  • Watering
  • Slicing
  • Coloring
  • optional Mounting
  • Expedition

  A special case is intraoperative examination with recording of the time to reach a diagnosis. It has the following processes:

  • Prepare a perioperative biopsy sample - freezing
  • Slicing in the cold
  • Coloring
  • Expedition
  • Diagnostics with time recording and the name of the doctor to whom the results were sent
  • optionally continued as type B
    • Biopsy - fixed material

   

  The recorded steps are displayed either in the form of a guide or printed reports with statistics.

  The guide contains the following information:

  • View all recorded steps taken
  • Who performed the step?
  • When was the step performed?

   

  Print reports are, for example:

  • Sample worksheet
  • Statistics of performed processes by workers
  • Doctor activity statistics
  • Summary statistics (for UZIS)

   

  All listed outputs can be printed or output to an external file.
