Prometheus

Prometheus is a globally recognized information system for hematopoietic stem cell donor registries. The system maintains records of stem cell donors, patients and the daily search for suitable donors for patients. It enables reporting to the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) and can also be linked to other registries through the European Marrow Donor Information System (EMDIS), an international stem cell donor network that now covers over 90 % donors worldwide. Prometheus uses 26 registries out of a total of 40 registries participating in this network.

• Prometheus is a Windows application that supports the following databases: Firebird, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Caché.
• It is used to manage donor (including CBU) and patient records, both local and foreign (EMDIS and non-EMDIS).
• Prometheus' core functionality is a comprehensive donor search that can provide matching probabilities. It is reliable, validated, and can provide daily updates of results.
• Prometheus is fully compatible with the international EMDIS communication protocol, enabling the exchange of donor requests and results.
• Integration with donor centers and HLA typing laboratories is possible. Naturally, it can be connected to Orpheus HLA.
• Prometheus covers all the main steps of transplant management: VT, TR, transplant and procurement records, and finally follow-up records.
• The system's data quality check automatically checks the donor database every night and alerts users to discrepancies and potential problems.
• Prometheus includes several analytical tools for various statistical queries, database consistency checks, searching for non-systematic errors in data, etc.
